Two year craftsman course under the ladderized curriculum for technology courses is a four semester course with 24 units per semester credit, with on the job training course every summer of the school year. Automotive technology is the appropriate course for beginners in automotive repair, it familiarize the technical aspect of mechanical troubleshooting and electrical as well as the electronic component.
Experience
I work in Private Royal Affairs workshop, we maintain all the vehicles use by the employees of the Private Royal Affairs, this vehicles are mostly American and Asian cars and some made in Australia. The car models are Tahoe, Malibu, Lumina, Suburban, Impala, Taurus, Crown victoria, Lincoln, Lexus, Avalon, Previa, Corolla, Camry, Land cruiser prado, etc. My duties and responsibilities are;Change engine oil and filter according to the maintenance schedule. Check all lubricants and coolants.Service braking system. Check pads and shoes, rotors and drums, parking brakes, change if necessary. Test ABS system if working properly. After all the job done in braking system I have to test drive the vehicle to observe and note any abnormality when braking, noise , vibration, pulling to one side, etc.Service suspension system. Check all underchassis components, ball joints, suspensions,rack and pinion, shock absorbers, stabilizer links and bushings, Service engine mechanical system. Check lubrication, any oil leaks, drive shafts propellers, spark plugs and coils, observe engine performance.Service cooling system. check weak drive belts, leaking water pumps and hoses, check thermostat, observe the auxiliary fan if working properly.Service clutch system. Change pressure plate, clutch disc and release bearing if necessary, check cross joint and center bearing, check cables and master cylinder. In automatic transmission change ATF and filter regularly.Service charging and electrical system. Check alternator if functioning properly, check for defective bulbs and fuses.Service fuel system. Check fuel pump relay and fuse and the pump itself, check for fuel leaks.Service wheels and tyres. Check for abnormal tire wear, rotate tyres if necessary, check wheel balancing and wheel alignment. Service On Board Diagnostics. Plug diagnostic tools and test the system for malfunctions.Observe cleanliness of the working area. Return tools to the proper locations. Dispose oil and other harmful contaminants to the proper disposal to prevent contaminate the environment and the people and animals.I work with dedication, I want to perform my job to the very best of my knowledge and ability.
